Case Study: tombola

We are delighted to announce that we’ve secured a new contract with the UK’s leading online bingo brand, tombola. As part of the new deal, Atom will be taking on the management of Tombola’s business’s mobile services and sim estate.

Having previously worked directly with the mobile network providers, the team at tombola were looking to gain greater visibility over the organisation’s mobile phone contracts with the aim of enhancing connectivity and cutting any waste or non-contract overspend.

As Atom Managing Director, Dean Cowens, explains,

“tombola explained to us that they were looking for a solution that could provide a level of support and care that matched their own service to their customers.

“Like any large organisation, tombola’s mobile estate is constantly changing as new team members come on board, staff move to new parts of the business, contract requirements change or employees move on to pastures new. Managing a mobile estate like this takes substantial resource and expertise because even a little overspend per sim card each month can add up when we’re talking about an organisation employing hundreds of staff.

“We are perfectly positioned to remove those headaches for tombola, so the team can get on with their other day-to-day work. Our dedicated account managers are also constantly analysing the sim estate via the Plan.com portal to see where more data might be needed; where savings can be made; or how issues can be avoided before they even arise. That’s the beauty of the service we provide.”

Liam Thompson, Lead Operational Support Engineer at tombola, adds,

“As a business, we often need new sims or contract changes to be implemented swiftly at tombola. Having the Atom team on hand to manage our requirements and bring their expertise to bear, gives us real peace of mind.

“Atom help to give us greater clarity over our contracts and usage, identify where savings can be made and help us to avoid issues or downtime quickly and hassle-free.”

Sunderland-based tombola, which began life printing Bingo tickets in the 1950s, employs more than 500 staff in the UK, with nearly 750 employees globally. Since 2022, tombola has been owned by the Flutter, which owns a range of household name brands including Paddy Power and Betfair.
